Work on the Malé North Side Boduthakurufaanu Magu Road Project (Phase 1) continues to advance, with 278 meters of sheet pile installation completed across segments 2, 3, and 4. Ongoing works in these areas include sewer upgrades, installation of water and wastewater main pipes, stormwater catchpits and wells, anchor blocks, and quay wall panels. Meanwhile, segment 5 has seen the installation of street lights, with the remaining quay wall-side sidewalk construction expected to be completed within the week.

Minister of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development Dr. Abdulla Muththalib and Indian High Commissioner G. Balasubramanian conducted a joint site visit to the Greater Malé Connectivity Project to assess its ongoing progress. The visit included senior officials from both governments, as well as representatives from contractor Afcons and consultant Arup. Officials were updated on key construction milestones and upcoming phases, with emphasis placed on improving coordination among stakeholders to ensure timely completion. The project is expected to significantly transform transport and connectivity across the Greater Malé region.
