FDC warns against subleasing of social housing flats

Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) has warned that subleasing of social housing flats violates tenant lease agreements. FDC stated it will take strict action, including fines up to MVR 50,000 and termination of agreements, against those found subleasing these highly subsidized units. The organization emphasized that turning social housing into profit-making rentals undermines the purpose of the projects and the rights of Maldivian citizens.
