The closing ceremony of the Basic Football and Futsal Referees Course was held in Haa Alif Ihavandhoo, marking the successful completion of training conducted from 11 to 20 April. The programme aimed to develop foundational officiating skills in football and futsal, supporting the growth of sports capacity and the development of qualified referees across the Maldives.

The panel at GirlsGoDigital explored how artificial intelligence and emerging technologies are shaping the future and who gets to be part of it. Discussions focused on creating more inclusive opportunities for women and girls, ensuring equitable access to digital skills, and promoting participation in the evolving tech landscape across the Maldives and beyond.

With the design phase completed, the land has been officially handed over to the contractor, marking the start of construction works aimed at expanding higher education infrastructure in the Maldives.

Mohamed Ali Waheed, Assistant Commissioner General of the Technical and Legal Directorate, participated in the PCT Tax and Development Conference and the PCT Domestic Revenue Mobilization in Small Island Developing States event held in Tokyo from 2 to 5 March 2026. The engagement focused on strengthening tax systems, improving domestic revenue mobilization, and sharing experiences relevant to small island developing economies, including the Maldives.
